Bitstream Inc. has announced a mobile browser that supports Indian languages and it’s the first in its kind. This browser is made for handset manufacturers and mobile operators and is built upon the BOLT cloud computing browsing platform. It includes the BOLT mobile browser with Indic language user interfaces. It can render Indic text on a Web page, and end users can input Indic text into the browser. BOLT is available in JavaME (also known as J2ME) and BREW, and can be used on mobile phones of all types, including those phones without native Indic language support.
In addition to English, the browser can support the following languages:
Hindi
Bengali
Gurumukhi
Telugu
Tamil
Kannada
Gujarati
Malayalam
Oriya

BOLT offers streaming audio and video available in a mobile browser. It supports both Flash and HTML5 video, and also includes social network integration, such as Twitter and Facebook widgets.
