Nokia launched Nokia 2690, a low cost phone, in India. The phone only costs Rs. 2749. Nokia is the leading mobile phone manufacturer in the world. It produces a wide range of handsets to fulfill the needs of people. India is one of the biggest markets of Nokia but it is now losing the low end phone market as there are several low cost handset makers such as Micro max, Maxx Mobile, Lemon, Lava, Intex, Spice. The low cost dual-SIM phone sets are already a huge hit in India.
The Nokia 2690 supports GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900, GPRS and EDGE. The phone measures 107.5 x 45.5 x 13.8 mm and weighs only 80.7 grams. It comes in graphite, white silver, hot pink, and blue.
The Nokia 2690 has a 1.8 inch TFT screen with 256k colors with a resolution of 128 × 160 pixels. The phonebook can store up to 2000 entries. It has an inbuilt 15 MB memory which can be expanded up to 2GB via microSD card.
The phone has a VGA camera with no flash or zoom. It can capture image with a resolution of 640X480. It also supports a wide range of media files including MP4, MP3 (support WAV/WMA file format).
