The smartphone, which is successor of the original HTC Desire, runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sporting the aluminium unibody style, it has a 3.7-inch SuperLCD screen with Gorilla Glass and a 480 x 800-pixel resolution. The phone's autofocus camera is 5MP capable of 720p HD video recording.
Connectivity options include HSDPA, 14.4Mbps/HSUPA 5.76Mbps and Wi-Fi with DLNA. It has an updated Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset, with a new 1 GHz Scorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU.
The smartphone has 4GB memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
