HTC has hinted that it plans to launch its most powerful HTC Desire HD Smartphone in India sometime during February 2011, that would be powered by Android v2.2 FroYo operating system, offering 720p HD video recording and featuring HTC Sense that integrates a variety of multimedia and location-based enhancements and introduces HTCSense.com, a series of new connected HTC services.htc-desire

Expected to be priced for about Rs. 28,500 in India, the HTC Desire HD smartphone is build on the unibody heritage of the HTC Legend, and is sculpted from a block of solid aluminum into a seamless compact frame and is powered by Android v2.2 FroYo upgrdable to Android v2.3 Gingerbread mobile operating system and features newly enhanced HTC Sense user interface with exciting new features.

The new HTC Sense experience offers a variety of enhancements that improve how people capture, create, share and access multimedia content.

With a newly created camera experience, people can record HD videos or capture and edit images with a variety of fun camera effects. With HTC Locations, a new differentiated online mapping experience, people have instant, on-demand mapping without download delays or incurring mobile roaming charges.

The enhanced HTC Sense introduces a new HTC application and widget called HTC Friend Stream which seamlessly integrate all of user’s social communication including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates, making it easier than ever to focus on what friends are doing as well as to view the images and links that they share.

The enhanced HTC Sense user interface also introduces broad improvements to applications including the browser, email client, IMs and others and includes a new newsreader application and widget, as well as a new seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens.

The new HTC Sense also includes a new integrated online e-reading experience utilizing a new e-book store powered by Kobo and a new, mobile-optimized e-reader that includes the ability to highlight, annotate and quickly search for definitions or translate unfamiliar terms.

Expected to be available in October 2010, the HTC Desire HD Smartphone is quad-band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and dual band 3G HSDPA 900/2100 Mhz network ready handset, which is equipped with 1-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8255 1 GHz processor and is powered by Google’s latest Android v2.1 (Eclair) mobile OS.

It also features Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Proximity sensor for auto-power-turn-off, touch sensitive control panel and optical joystick, surrounded by a narrow button replaces the traditional trackball improving usability without interrupting its unique design.

The HTC Desire HD smartphone comes with 1.5GB internal memory with 768MB RAM and offers microSD card support of upto 32-GB expandable memory and it features a larger 4.3-inches, 480 x 800 pixels hi-resolution LED backlit Capacitive Touchscreen display capable of 16 million colors.

Weighing only 164 gms, the HTC Desire HD Smartphone measures 123 x 68 x 11.8 mm and includes a 8.0 Megapixel Auto Focus camera with built-in DUAL-LED flash, Face Detection and Geo-tagging capability offering maximum 3264 x 2448 pixels resolution. The camera also offers 720p HD video recording.

Available in Black and brown colors, the new HTC Desire HD smartphone offers exhaustive data connectivity options including WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless LAN, GPRS class 10, EDGE class 10 (236.8 kbps), Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP wireless connection with FTP and OPP file transfer capabilities, 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps, 3G HSUPA 2Mbps connection and microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity.

Android v2.1 powered 3G ready HTC Desire HD Smartphone also features stereo FM radio with RDS, MP3 audio player MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA formats, video media player supporting MP4, H.263/H.264 abd WMV9 formats. The handset offers Dolby Mobile Surround sound enhancement and sports 3.5mm audio out port.

Other features of HTC Desire HD Smartphone includes built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, Digital Compass, Java MIDP 2.0 support, a dedicated key for search application and is Adobe Flash 10.1 ready. It also includes applications such as Google search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, and Google Picasa, full HTML browser, Email with push email and IM clients, besides dedicated application for social networking including Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter.

It also includes the new HTC Fast Boot that enables people to quickly make a call or check emails by shortening the time taken to complete the power-up sequence.

HTC Desire HD Smartphone comes with powerful 1230 mAh standard Li-ion battery that can provide upto 6.5 hours of talk time and 340 hours of standby time on 2G network.
